Reception Starters 2026 Summer Social Stay and Play - Cross Gates Primary School

Help your little one step into school with confidence, friendships and a sense of familiarity.

Our Summer Social Stay & Play sessions are specially designed for children starting Reception this year.

These relaxed, playful sessions bring together children who will be attending Cross Gates Primary School helping them form early connections before their big first day, as well as allowing parents to get to know each other ready for September.

Each session is thoughtfully structured around our signature storytelling and play-based approach, including:

• Interactive storytelling to spark imagination
• Songs and games to introduce each other
• Free play to encourage natural social interaction
• Creative activities to build confidence and self-expression

To keep the sessions calm, focused and beneficial for the children starting school, it is kindly asked that only the child attending Reception takes part in the session with one accompanying adult so that children can comfortably play, interact and build connections with their future classmates.

If you need to bring a sibling, please get in touch before booking.

The session will take place in the function room at the newly refurbished Barnbow on Austhorpe Road.
